MAKE AI PART OF HOW YOU LEAD

AI has already changed how a lot of us work. But what’s not talked about enough is how it changes what people need from you as a leader.

Some of your team will dive in headfirst. Others will hesitate. And a few will outright avoid it until you show them how it actually helps them do better work.

At Ninety, we didn’t launch an AI initiative. We just stayed curious and gave people room to try things. The shift happened naturally because we focused on how AI could support the way we already think, decide, and build.

You don’t need to force change. But you do need to lead through it, especially when the way we work is being redefined in real time.

PERSPECTIVES

“The future of AI is not about replacing humans. It’s about augmenting human capabilities." — Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google

MARK MY WORDS

I use AI every single day. It’s part of how I lead, not just how I work.
When I talk about AI with the team, I’m not pitching a new system or pushing adoption. I’m sharing what I’m learning: Here’s how I used Maz to tighten a Rock. Here’s a prompt that helped me reframe a problem.

That’s how real trust is built. Not by making it a rule. By making it real.

Some people have taken to it quickly. Others needed space to watch, test, and figure out where it fits into their roles. I respect that. One of our Core Values at Ninety is Inquisitive. We value curiosity, the kind that shows up by testing ideas and new tools to help us work smarter.

As a founder, my role is to stay curious, stay visible, and keep making the work better in ways people can see. If this is going to be part of how we operate, it has to start with how we lead.

INSIDE NINETY

Quarterly goals, or Rocks, have always been a big part of how we operate. But without a clear view of what’s ahead, it’s easy for those goals to veer off from the bigger picture. The new Planning Board in Ninety helps us stay focused on what’s next and make sure this quarter sets us up for the one after.
